Connecting to your Server

After installing TeamSpec and launching Word, the first thing you will want to do is connect to your Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Click the TeamSpec tab to display the TeamSpec ribbon bar. The ribbon bar is the home of all of TeamSpec's major features. You will notice that everything is greyed-out except for the "Add TFS Connection button" and the "Help" button. The greyed-out tools will become accessible once you have connected to a server.

The TeamSpec tab: connect to your server with the tool at the left side of the tab.

Click the "Add TFS Connection" button. If you have not already, take this opportunity to register your copy of TeamSpec. Then you will see the "Connect to Team Project" dialog window. Select your Team Foundation Server from the drop-down menu. If your desired server doesn't appear in that menu, click the "Servers..." button to add it. Select your project collection from the field on the left and check the boxes of any projects in the collection you want to connect to on the right. When you are done, click "Connect."
