The Index Tab
The index tab shows a nested list of all of the servers and projects that you are
connected to, and all of the work items you have referenced in your document.
The work items are separated by type and listed in order of ID number. All of the
referenced fields are listed beneath their work item next to a colored circle. The
color of this circle indicates the state of that field with regard to the server.

The index tree provides you with an easy visualization of the information in your
TeamSpec document and how that information relates to the values on the server.
By right-clicking on different members of the list you can access a number of tools.
You can refresh or publish specific fields, work items, or groups of work items
with the right-click dialogue. To learn more about refreshing and publishing, see
Publishing & Refreshing.
There are additional tools that you can access through the right-click dialogue
for work items and specific fields within work items. You can send a work item to
the canvas (to learn more about the canvas, see The
Canvas Tab). If you need to edit fields that are not represented in your
document, you can do so by choosing "Open Work Item Form..." Finally, you can remove
a work item or a specific field of a work item from your document by selecting "Remove
this Work Item Reference." This deletes the work item or field from your document,
but not the server.
